Michael Rafael Mercado is a director, performer, and artist currently based out of Birmingham, AL. They hold a BA in performance with emphasis on directing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

As an artist, they are fascinated with the unheard stories, the outliers that people don’t normally hear or the words they don’t want to hear. In our current time, the stories being told have to include Queer voices that continuously go unheard throughout our society. With their work, they seek to amplify those voices and stories in order to inspire and support positive change in communities.
